I usually start my Christmas knitting in June. While some may think that sounds crazy, I find it a relaxing way to prepare for the holiday. Knitting is supposed to be a leisurely hobby, not one that's rushed against a deadline. So, for me, Christmas knitting starts early. This year, I'm knitting more gifts than I ever have. Gifts for nine different people, to be exact. Luckily most of those people are on the younger side of life and so the projects tend to come together rather quickly. With just a few weeks left, though, I'm starting to feel the clock tick, which is causing my needles to click a bit more than usual.
With the end of the semester quickly approaching, I'm feeling myself fighting against the clock with work deadlines as well. After a 12-hour work day, knitting a few rows or rounds has been helping me to relax and rest a bit before crawling into bed. I must say, though, that I'm greatly looking forward to a week and a half from now when I can put on White Christmas and just sit and knit for a few hours straight. Right now, that sounds heavenly.
How about you? Are you knitting for Christmas??
