I've been thoroughly enjoying this sight this past week! An egg dish filled with eggs...from my backyard!! Yay! We now have two chickens laying -- Chicken and Trudy. Over the past week and a half they've laid at least a dozen. It's been so fun to come home from work and find eggs in their nesting boxes!

Our ladies are looking rather full grown lately. In the pictures below, you'll find Henrietta, Birdie, Chicken (top), Pollo (bottom), and Trudy. Our two layers have become a bit more docile over the past week, so I'm curious to see if/how the others change once they each start laying.

I must say that their butts are one of my favorite things about them. They are so fluffy!! The feathers are soft and fine like their little baby chick feathers. Every time I look at them or touch them, it reminds me of their cute little chick days--when they chirped, rather than sounding like velociraptors.

Ah, but I love them, their crazy sounds and all! It's so much fun having chickens!
