I came downstairs yesterday morning to a dining room table that looked like this--full of remnants that told tales of a wonderful wedding weekend. My brother Tanner (the middle of my three younger brothers) got married on Sunday afternoon to my new sister-in-law Lindsey! We are beyond happy for them!
It was a strange experience watching my little brother get married, I must say. As I watched Lindsey walk down the isle towards him, all I could think about was his round little smiling face when he was just 3 or 4. Now he's all grown up! Craziness!! (In the picture below we have Riley, me, Tanner, and Jake. The birth order is me, Jake, Tanner, and Riley.)
I was honored to be a bridesmaid in the wedding, but I realized this past week that being a bridesmaid and the sister of the groom put me on both sides of the wedding...huh! So, needless to say, there was a lot on my to-do list as the wedding grew closer! That trusty dining room table of mine went through those many stages of wedding prep with me throughout the week.
My favorite part of the wedding prep process was the flower making! My ladies and I made all of the flowers for my wedding two years ago and so Lindsey decided to do the same for her wedding. I think making your own flowers is such a fun way to spend time with your ladies the day before the big day and also such a good way to really make them your own and truly enjoy the flowers! I love watching bunches of flowers transform into gorgeous bouquets, corsages, and boutonnieres! (It's also a super affordable way to go!)
The wedding was a complete success! It was gorgeous in every way, and most importantly, the bride and groom are now husband and wife. To me, the best part of weddings is the fact that they are a start of a marriage. I truly believe that marriage is an absolutely beautiful thing. I'm so excited to watch Tanner and Lindsey grow together as husband and wife--learning to love and serve each other more and more each day.
My second favorite part of weddings is the dancing....I LOVE the dancing! This handsome guy spent the evening on the dance floor with me and we had such a great time!
Oh, family weddings...they are so much work, so exhausting, but so, so wonderful. I'm so glad we were able to play such big roles in this wedding! It was truly a great weekend.
